Michael Frost started his Law Enforcement career in Kensington, NH in 1981 as a part-time police officer. He joined the Seabrook Police Department in 1982, in which he served as a patrol officer; youth services officer; patrol sergeant; and administrative sergeant. He has also served as a Patrolman, Sergeant, and D.A.R.E. Officer for the South Hampton Police Department. He served as a Special Deputy Sheriff for the Rockingham Sheriff's Department from 1987 till 2002. Upon his retirement from the Seabrook Police Department in 2004, he joined Sheriff Frank G. Cousins Jr., at the Essex County Sheriff's Department as a Deputy Sheriff assigned to the Basic Training Academy and Training Division and was recently appointed as the Assistant Superintendent of the Essex County Correctional Facility.

Assistant Superintendent Frost received an Associates Degree from Hesser College in 1993; a Bachelors of Science Degree in Human Services, with a minor in Criminal Justice from Springfield College in 1994; a Master of Science Degree in Administration from Springfield College in 1996; a Master of Social Work Degree from the University of New Hampshire in 2000, and will be starting his Doctor of Arts Degree in Leadership at Franklin Pierce University, in September of 2008. Deputy Frost has been one of a very few pioneers in the area of dealing with Critical Incident Stress in the State of New Hampshire since the mid 1990's. He has taught, and continues to teach on the topic of Stress and Wellness in Law Enforcement at the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council, and facilitates training on this topic and many others to New Hampshire and Massachusetts Law Enforcement agencies.

He has been a member of the Granite State Critical Incident Debriefing Team and has facilitated or assisted in the facilitation of numerous critical incident debriefings since the early 90's. He continues to be an active member of this volunteer team. For several years, he has consulted with dozens of community-based groups funded by the US Department of Education, dealing with improving such broad-based issues as low productivity, poor morale, and ineffective organizational communication between generations of employees. He is an Adjunct Professor at Springfield College in their Undergraduate and Graduate Programs teaching on numerous topics since 1997.
